Hallucination at Depth

Work on this triptych began in the summertime. It was initially inspired by the ascension out of the lake water each day and also a reflection of the ominous presence of the submerged tree stumps that lurked beneath the surface. These paintings sat unfinished for an entire season and were later completed in the city during the bitter cold of winter. The depths of the lake, the depths of winter, and the depths of my urban subterranean workspace all work together to create this hallucination. All paintings are acrylic on canvas. Each panel measures 36″ x 18″.
